{"id":1009,"date":"2020-06-03T15:52:02","date_gmt":"2020-06-03T15:52:02","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/tasteporto.com\/?p=1009"},"modified":"2024-11-16T00:25:58","modified_gmt":"2024-11-16T00:25:58","slug":"recipe-octopus-stew","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/tasteporto.com\/ja\/recipe-octopus-stew\/","title":{"rendered":"A portuguese favorite: octopus stew recipe"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>Though we generally associate octopus with summertime \u2013 fresh octopus on the grill is my favorite \u2013 it also works beautifully in this stew recipe that we hope you will enjoy!\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Ingredients:<\/strong><strong>&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>1.5 kg (3.3 pounds) of octopus<\/li><li>1.5 decilitres (2\/3cup) of olive oil<\/li><li>1 large onion<\/li><li>4 tomatoes<\/li><li>3.5 decilitres (1.5 cups) of white wine<\/li><li>1 spring of parsley<\/li><li>1 clove of garlic<\/li><li>7 decilitres (3 cups) of water<\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This is a good recipe for a bad day. Wonder why?\nStart by defrosting the octopus and washing it thoroughly with cold water. Next, wrap it up in a clean kitchen towel and beat it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Yes. Beat the hell out of it!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><a href=\"https:\/\/tasteporto.com\/tours\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Pssst&#8230; Join our <strong> Food &amp; Drink Tours <\/strong>and discover a side of Porto that most tourists rarely see \u00bb<\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Steps:<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Grab a rolling pin or a creative substitute and beat it. How\u2019s your bad day going now?\nOnce thoroughly beaten, or tenderized as some would call it, cut the tentacles and body into small bite-sized pieces. Now place the pieces in boiling water and cook for 10 minutes before draining.<\/li><li>Next chop up the onion into small pieces and saut\u00e9 over medium heat at the bottom of a large pot with olive oil for only a few minutes until the onions are translucent. Add the octopus and tomatoes and a pinch of salt. Cook for 10 minutes before pouring in the wine, parsley, garlic and water. Bring to a boil and then reduce the heat to a simmer, covering the pot. Cook until the octopus is tender, about 20 to 25 minutes.<\/li><li>You can also add in cooked rice to make this an even more filling stew.
